Ellie Wilson Banks is the Communications Director for the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC).

Ellie has over fifteen years of professional communication experience, including roles in digital media and public relations with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES), Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB), and the Cirlot Agency. She joined MAC on July 1, 2022.

As Communications Director, Ellie leads MAC’s promotional efforts, sharing the stories of artists and arts organizations through print, broadcast, and digital media. She also directs public events, including Arts Day at the Capitol and the Governor’s Arts Awards, which recognize outstanding contributions to the arts.

Ellie manages the schedule for “Mississippi Arts Hour,” MAC’s weekly podcast in partnership with Mississippi Public Broadcasting.

Ellie holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from Mississippi College. She lives in Brandon, MS, with her husband, Grant, and their son, Logan.
