Ellie Wilson Banks, Communications Director

Ellie Wilson Banks is the Communications Director for the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC).

Ellie brings over a decade of professional communication experience to MAC, including working in digital media and public relations for the Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES), Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB), and the Cirlot Agency. She joined the MAC team on July 1, 2022.

As communications director, Ellie leads the promotional efforts of the Mississippi Arts Commission by telling the stories of MAC artists and arts organizations through print, broadcast, and media. She directs and coordinates public-facing events such as the annual Arts Day at the Capitol advocacy event and the Governor’s Arts Awards, MAC’s signature annual event, which recognizes outstanding contributors to the arts.

Ellie also manages the “Mississippi Arts Hour” schedule, MAC’s weekly radio show on Mississippi Public Broadcasting.

Ellie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Mississippi College. She lives in Brandon, MS, with her husband, Grant Banks, and son, Logan Banks.
