MAC Now Accepting Grant Applications

JACKSON, MISS. – Feb. 5, 2018 – The Mississippi Arts Commission is now accepting applications from individuals and organizations for the agency’s annual grant programs. The upcoming application deadline is Thursday, March 1, 2018, at 5 p.m. for operating and project grants to organizations and schools, as well as fellowships, apprenticeships, artist roster and teaching artist roster for individual artists.

Grants to organizations fund a broad range of arts projects in Mississippi communities and help nonprofit arts organizations maintain financial stability, build organization capacity and improve artist programs. Grant funds are also available to organizations for presenting a roster artist or teaching artist.

Grants to individual artists encourage artistic excellence, support the creation of new work and help ensure the survival of community-based traditional art forms found throughout the state.

Complete grant guidelines and instructions on how to use MAC’s new eGRANT system can be found on the agency’s website at www.arts.ms.gov or by calling (601) 359-6030 for more details. First time applicants are strongly encouraged to call and speak with a MAC staff member about their project before submitting an application.
