This week on the Mississippi Arts Hour, Larry speaks with Governor’s Arts Awards Excellence in Music recipient Eddie Cotton, Jr.
Cotton is a masterful electric blues guitarist whose deep-rooted passion for the genre began in his youth. Hailing from Clinton, Cotton was immersed in music early on, singing and playing gospel in his father’s church. It wasn’t long before the raw, soulful rhythms of the blues captured his heart, inspiring him to pick up the electric guitar and infuse the traditional sounds with his own fresh, modern flair.
