Lisa McMurtray earned her BA and MA in English from Mississippi State University and MFA from Florida State University. After teaching freshman English at the college level for five years, she secured the McRae Publishing Internship at the University Press of Mississippi, where she has worked since 2015. Her publishing specialties include works in the fields of biography, ethnomusicology, comic studies, Caribbean studies, history, and media studies. Lisa is also a talented illustrator and graphic designer.
