Susan Marquez has written over 3500 articles about MS arts and culture for The Bluegrass Standard, Our South, Okra, Country Roads, Delta magazine, and many others. She is the culture editor of Magnolia Tribune. As president of the MS Writers Guild, she taught workshops statewide. Her essay in the anthology “A Second Blooming” (Mercer Univ. Press) also ran in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She was commissioned by the MS Sect. of State’s office to edit “A Bicentennial History of Mississippi” and by Commissioner Andy Gibson to edit “The History of the Mississippi Department of Agriculture & Commerce.” Susan recently completed the course “Community Scholars Training Across State Lines: Arkansas and Mississippi,” presented by Arkansas Folk & Traditional Arts, Univ. of Arkansas, and the MS Arts Commission. As a member of the MAC Artist Roster, Susan did a presentation on Music Journalism at the GRAMMY Museum with Richelle Putnam.
