Artist Chuck Galey uses arts integration strategies and his unique experience as a children’s book author and illustrator to inspire students to become lifelong readers.  From first grade to university book festivals, Chuck has presented workshops throughout the Southeast on the importance of illustration to the visual storytelling nature of the picture book. An enthusiastic advocate of arts in the classroom as a teaching tool across the curriculum, Chuck’s programs keep students of all ages engaged and, although they don’t realize it, learning.

Chuck tailors programs for student arts experiences as well as professional development for educators of all grades and levels. His approach to writing, reading, and art experiences encourages active student engagement and participation using creative drawing story interpretation exercises that enhance material retention and stimulate creativity. Chuck is available to work with students and teachers for full day or three to five day residencies throughout the academic year and summer workshops.
