Angee Montgomery

Angee Montgomery is a North Mississippi-based artist who explores the natural world and human condition through painting and surface design. Using time-honored techniques, she creates realistic paintings of plants, animals, and figures with a gestural and elegant aesthetic. She hopes her work entrances the eye, feeds the soul, and plants a seed of connection and community. Whether working with personal stories or those of a community, individual, or organization, the process and intent remain the same: Angee uses beauty to ignite a greater sense of community to each other and the natural world.

Through her Hernando studio, Montgomery offers custom oil paintings, interior and exterior murals, surface design for home decor brands, and releases collections of original work that explore themes surrounding biodiversity and nature.

Montgomery’s passion for art led to private drawing and oil painting lessons in her early teens, foundational instruction from Memphis College of Art, and a BFA from the University of Memphis in 2014. She’s had many creative professions dotting her path as a young artist, such as Graphic Designer, Creative Educator, and Community Arts Director. In 2022, she launched the inaugural Motherland Creative Retreat, a nature-based artist retreat in rural Mississippi.
