Angee Montgomery is a professional fine art painter & art educator living and working in Hernando, Mississippi. Montgomery holds a BFA in Fine Art from the University of Memphis. Montgomery mentors youth in the local community through the DeSoto Arts Council and offers her teaching services to a wider audience through virtual classes. She demonstrates her unique and experimental creative process for groups and organizations.
Her paintings not only expose but also celebrate how beautiful vulnerability can be. Through layered, gestural brushwork, she crafts simple poetic visuals at life-like sizes that give the effect of looking into the window of another world. Direct observation mingles with memory, imagination, and plays as she unveils very personal but at the same time, universal stories.
Through paintings, demonstrations, and art education, Angee shares the restorative and inspirational power of the creative process. With the simple motto of learn, live, and share, Montgomery continues to expand her craft and visual perspective and teaches others how to tap into their own creativity.
