Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Jerry grew up in Vicksburg but now resides in Jackson, Mississippi. He has performed across the South, from historical events to presentations and plays. Listed as a speaker on the Mississippi Humanities Council, as well as a performance and teaching artist on the Mississippi Arts Commission roster, Jerry’s mission extends beyond the stage; he is committed to promoting cultural awareness and appreciation. He founded Hasan Drums, an organization dedicated to bringing West African music and history into schools and communities.
