Today on Arts Hour, Turry Flucker talks with 2018 Governor’s Arts Awards recipient and Artistic Director of Ballet Mississippi, David Keary of Jackson.

David Keary began his ballet training with the Jackson Ballet under the direction of Albia Kavan Cooper, and he later became the organization’s first professional dancer under the direction of Thalia Mara. Mr. Keary danced for many years in New York with the prestigious New York City Ballet and since 1994, he has served as the artistic director of Ballet Mississippi.
