Kira Cummings is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice centers on the art of woodburning. Guided by an enduring curiosity about materials and storytelling, she transforms each medium into a vessel for exploring identity, place, and human connection. A Fine Art graduate of Jackson State University with a Minor in Graphic Design, Cummings is a member of both the Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi and the Louisiana Crafts Guild, where her practice in pyrography continues to grow. Through teaching woodburning workshops, she shares her passion for the tactile and transformative nature of the medium, inviting others to find expression through fire and wood. As Creative Director for The Works, she extends her artistic vision into motion—creating video and animation for musicians, interview programs, and corporate projects, as well as producing live events that bring creative communities together.
