This is an amazing string teaching program residency designed for an entire school with the objective of students acquiring in a VERY SHORT TIME (3-4 days) enough basic skills on the fiddle (violin) to be able to solo perform a three-chord 2-step fiddle tune with guitar accompaniment. In addition, students will learn enough techniques to produce sound effects to illustrate a short folk story narrated by the instructor musically.

This program is for students K-12, with kindergarten students participating in an abbreviated version of the program. A minimum of four 45-minute (30 for kindergarten) consecutive sessions per class (25 to 30 students) is recommended, with the fourth session serving as a recital performed for attending parents and students. Fiddles are supplied for every student by the instructor for use during the session.

Performance assemblies are also available, consisting of demonstrations, storytelling, and most of all…fiddle music.

One-day workshops are available for adults, community groups, youth organizations, and public library-sponsored events and can be tailored to fit a 1 to 3-hour time frame.
