Hailing from culturally rich Oxford, Mississippi, Damein Wash is an avid performer, taking Mississippi music to large cities across the nation. Damein’s programs have included a set of protest songs that pervaded the 1960s Civil Rights movement and a concert of Mississippi Gospel Blues, which has been performed in France and Germany. He also writes scores for television and film, including arranging and conducting Deep South Gospel, which was featured on American Gods and USA Network’s Queen of the South. Damein also facilitates, as a clinician conductor, Pop-Up Choir, a three-hour remote community event that creates a choir from attendees at all levels of ability.
