Annie Parr is a contemporary fiber and textile artist originally from Raymond, Mississippi. A 2025 MFA graduate from East Tennessee State University, her thesis titled Held on by a Thread exhibited a collection of original artwork that incorporated textiles and found objects from her home “to honor the craft art made by people before her and extend the life of family keepsakes through the repurposing of materials into quilts.” Parr’s intersectional focus on printmaking and textile-based methods is a direct connection with the craft-based practices she learned through her family, utilizing family artifacts and photographs to create the artworks’ imagery. 2025 exhibition sites have included View Arts Center (Old Forge, NY), CORE: Art Space (Lakewood, CO), and Kinhouse Gallery and Residency (Fort Wayne, IN). Parr is a member of the Mississippi Quilt Association, the Chimneyville Weavers and Spinners Guild, and the Radical Intersectional Printmaker Guild.
