Kay Meadows, a fine artist/illustrator born and raised in Mississippi, has been drawing and creating art ever since someone put a crayon in her hand at an early age.

Her life and artistic journey took her out of Mississippi living in two other states for many years and traveling to several countries. Experiencing new cultures, languages and customs broadened her perspective and creativity.

While painting is her first love, she received her degree in Commercial Design and Advertising and built a career as a graphic designer working in several industries, including ad departments of grocery stores and department stores, a mission organization, book publishing, a manufacturing company, and a print shop.

Wonderfully, this has opened doors for Kay to do personal work, commissions, murals, and, more recently, illustrating children’s books. She also creates surface pattern designs and illustrations to go on products in the home decor market.

Kay enjoys sharing her story about growing up as an artist and how she became a children’s book illustrator to inspire others to tap into their creativity and consider choosing a career in the arts. Her presentations can be adjusted to suit the age and size of any audience. She is currently available for select speaking engagements.
