My specialization lies in songwriting and performance rooted in Mississippi’s folk and blues traditions, infused with modern indie sensibilities. With a BFA and MFA in Creative Writing and years of college-level teaching, I connect literary craft with musical storytelling. This background enables me to lead songwriting and creativity workshops that blend writing structure with the soul of music—helping participants explore technical skill and authentic voice through Mississippi’s cultural heritage. From my previous experience as a Delta-focused Economic Development, I have been featured nationally in podcasts and as a speaker at conferences to promote Mississippi and its creative culture. In 2024, I was interviewed for the Mississippi Blues & Arts Hour, highlighting my artistic and community work. My recent collaborations with Stud Ford (grandson of T-Model Ford) reflect over 20 years of performance experience and my commitment to preserving and expanding the state’s musical legacy.
