Dr. Patrick Rettger is instructor of tuba and euphonium at Jackson State University. Along with applied lessons, Dr. Rettger coaches the JSU Brass Quintet, a select quintet of campus musicians, and is conductor of the JSU Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble. He is also a prolific arranger having written for many groups including tuba-euphonium quartet and ensemble, brass quintet, brass ensemble, wind ensemble, and marching band.
Dr. Rettger has performed extensively in the state, nationally, and internationally. He primarily performs with the Mississippi Brass and Percussion and the 41st Army National Guard Band where he plays tuba, euphonium, sousaphone, and serves as the drum major of the ceremonial band. He is also tuba player for the Dixiekrauts Germanfest band, the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra, Mississippi Wind Symphony, as well as a founding member of TubaPercapsody, a tuba and percussion duo with Jason Mathena.
