A Starkville native, George “Sky” Miles Jr. is a visual artist whose artwork has been widely exhibited both nationally and internationally in numerous solo and group exhibitions including: Smith Robertson Museum and Cultural Center, Mississippi Museum of Art, Municipal Art Gallery, Fischer Gallery, and many more. Miles is a mentor and advocate for artists helping them achieve their fullest potential. He previously volunteered with MAC’s Arts Ambassadors program. The 2016 Mississippi Invitational at the Mississippi Museum of Art featured his photography artwork “Back Yard Mississippi.”
Through his work for the education initiative Ask For More for the past nine years, Miles works to build a creative foundation for students by incorporating the arts into classrooms. He offers art integration development workshops including painting, photography, mixed media, drawing and film.
